Airbnb’s Biggest Problem

Feeling resentment towards apps we constantly use and depend on is kind of a given in today’s world. However in contrast to apps like Uber and Doordash, Airbnb is unique in the sense that it draws resentment not only from its users, but even from people who never use the app: neighbors of users, their communities, and their entire cities that feel the impact. This story by Shira Ovide covers the unusual case of Airbnb and its role as a much used but much hated middleman.
